About
The White family have been breeding cattle near Ballarat since the 1860’s, with the original part of the farm officially given a land title in 1878.
Starting out as dairy farmers supplying the Ballarat Goldfields with milk from skills brought from England, the Whites were quick to adapt to the new harsher conditions in Victoria by selecting and breeding cattle to suit. As part of this Angus cattle were introduced to cross breed with dairy heifers until they finally wound up dairy farming in the 1980's.
In 2005 Ayrvale Angus was formed by Richard White with the purchase of 4 stud cows with calves at foot.
Learning as much as possible it soon became obvious that breeding bulls at the top end of the percentile bands was where he wanted to be. By sourcing top females and embryos, slowly the elite progeny have grown.
